Social

We use commercial space instead of residential space to reduce pressure on the housing market.

We create an atmosphere that is appreciative and as stress-free as possible for our employees and guests.

Ethics in our supply chain are important to us, so we work to constantly replace our product range with regional and fair-trade products. This also includes the fair payment of our cleaning staff and service providers.

Ecological

We operate our apartments with a continuously growing share of green electricity.

We optimize our transport routes through local partner companies and low-weight and low-packaging orders (some goods are delivered in powder form and prepared on site).

We are renovating our apartments to make the most efficient use of energy.

In our new projects, we use mostly sustainable equipment, made from renewable natural/raw materials and recycled resources.

We are working on the implementation of smart energy control systems.

Governance

We are committed to providing you with the greatest possible transparency on sustainability aspects.

We are working on an annual sustainability report that will show our emissions separately by operational and building carbon.

To further increase our credibility for you, we will have our next projects certified by an independent third party in order to live up to our exemplary role.

As a young company, we have been pursuing the goal of making our contribution to a better world since our foundation. We rely on the continuous development of sustainability concepts, cooperation with other sustainable companies and the latest technological standards in our accommodations. As a guide, we consider the ESG standards together with the Sustainable Development Goals, which is why we distinguish between social ecological and economic aspects.

The mission:
Net-Zero by 2030

All ecological efforts serve to achieve one goal: CO² reduction in line with the 1.5 degree target. In doing so, we focus on efficient energy use. For this reason, our apartments have been energy-savingly renovated in order to address the biggest source of CO² during an overnight stay – the building. By 2025, all apartments should correspond to the energy level of a passive house.

Our designs are also based on the motto: “Sustainability you can touch”. Here, we pay attention to the use of sustainable materials and thus create a living experience that is close to nature without sacrificing comfort.

We still have a long way to go to achieve complete carbon neutrality, but we face this with passion, optimism and a lot of motivation. And with every booking, you can go a little way with us!

Auf dem Weg zur individuellen Nachhaltigkeitsabrechnung

Wir arbeiten kontinuierlich daran, unsere Auswirkungen auf Klima und Umwelt zu erfassen und zu reduzieren. Dabei unterstützt uns jetzt auch die Dist@l Förderung von digitales.hessen zusammen mit der hessischen Staatskanzlei. Durch unser Projekt “Nachhaltige Hotellerie messbar & erlebbar machen” wollen wir in der Zukunft daran arbeiten durch individuelle und automatische Nachhaltigkeitsberichte unseren Gästen Informationen über ihren persönlichen CO2-Fußabdruck während ihres Aufenthalts bei uns zu geben. Zusätzlich möchten wir eine Szenarienfunktion zur Verfügung stellen, die die Veränderungen von Verhalten und baulichen Maßnahmen auf den persönlichen Fußabdruck aufzeigt.

Roadmap to Net-Zero

In 2020 we started offering our first vacation apartments to our guests.

We started offering our Awesome Stays instead of residential space on commercial space to relieve the housing market.

We have reflected on our ecological footprint and taken measures to relieve our operational carbon.

In order to determine our carbon footprint, we draw up an inventory of the building and operational carbon. For our new projects there will be a sustainable concept with fair furniture and cooperation with local suppliers.

In addition, a transparent sustainability report is to be published this year, with which our figures will be disclosed.

Our plan for CO₂-neutral stays will be implemented. With the whole-life carbon we consider the emissions from Cradle to Grave. Our operational carbon will have reached our goal of net zero carbon.

We want to inspire others with our mission to offer sustainable options for travel. And to make our apartments accessible for everyone, a franchise is being set up. This will soon make Awesome Stays possible in your city.

The building carbon is compensated for our old and new objects, so that we achieve our goal of carbon net zero.
